Ghana youth international Mubarak Wakaso will play in the Uefa Champions League next season after his club Villarreal secured fourth place in the Spanish La Liga on final day.

The Yellow Sub-marines sealed the final slot despite losing to mid-table club Osasuna and will play in the qualifying rounds.

Wakaso, 21, joined Villarreal from Segunda side Elche FC which cancelled his contract because of disciplinary reasons in February.

The left-winger took only three weeks to convince Juan Carlos Garrido for first team spot and was handed his debut that same month.

The former AshGold midfielder played an influential role in their Europa League campaign which ended in the semi-finals.

He made ten appearances in all competition for Villarreal and overly impressed.
