Black Queens defender Janet Egyir has been named as the Best Player of the 2018 Women’s WAFU Nations Cup after guiding Ghana to win the tournament.

The defender scored three goals in the competition and emerged woman of the match on two occasions.

Janet, who was a center back was deployed to the right back position by new coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo.

The former Hasaacas Ladies center back was instrumental in guiding the Black Queen to win the Women WAFU Nations Cup.

Ghana became the first country to win the maiden edition of the Women WAFU Nations Cup.

This follows an earlier title triumph by Ghana’s Black Stars B who won the men’s edition of the competition which was hosted in Cape Coast last year.

Janet replicated the performance of Isaac Twum who won the Best Player of the tournament in the men’s edition.
