Statistics released by the Ghanaian Football Association show that last season’s Glo premier league was more goal heavy than its predecessor.
After 240 matches 16 teams scored 513 goals between them, an average of 2.1 goals per game, just beating the 2012 season average of 1.98.
The goals per week average significantly increased from 15.87 in 2011/12 up to 17.1 last season.
There were 37 more goals scored in 2012 than 2011 and although it took Champions Asante Kotoko until the last game of the season to clinch the title, they did so while only losing two games.
In comparison bottom side Real Tampale racked up an incredible 25 losses.
The 2013/14 season begins on September 15th.
