Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris is confident that the Black Stars will not disappoint at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals.
Black Stars are under pressure to replicate the impressive performance which earned a quarter-final berth at the last tournament in South Africa four years ago.
The task this year in Brazil looks herculean after being grouped alongside USA, Germany and Portugal.
Ghanaââ¬â¢s preparedness was tested last Saturday against the Netherlands in a 1-0 defeat at De Kuip Arena in Rotterdam.
But Waris says there is no need to press the panic button.
ââ¬ÅWe all work hard everyday knowing the task ahead. The World Cup is self motivational and the Black Stars has been raising the flag of Ghana high in recent times and we cannot afford to let Ghanaians down,â⬠he told GHANASoccernet.com
ââ¬ÅWe are confident in our abilities and that of the coach working had to bring success home.ââ¬
Waris is owned by Russian side Spartak Moscow but spent last season on loan at French Ligue 1 outfit Valenciennes where he scored nine goals in 16 matches.
