Turkish club Trabzonspor are reportedly interested in signing Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris even before the commencement of the 2014 World Cup.

The 22-year-old has become a hot transfer target having excelled on loan in the final half of the French top flight with Valenciennes.

Waris is substantively on the books of Russian club Spartak Moscow but appears ready to return to the more competitive European leagues.

It is unclear if Spartak will be willing to sell off the striker they only signed in 2013 from BK Hacken.

But Trabzonspor are determined to seal a deal for the Ghana international even before the start of this month’s World Cup in Brazil.

The Turkish top flight club anticipate a surge in Waris’ asking price after the World Cup where he is expected to excel with the Black Stars.

They therefore want to save some few more cash by getting a deal in place with some few days to the big kickoff in Brazil.

The Right to Dream Academy graduate has alerted several clubs of his enormous potential after excelling on a six-month loan stint with Valenciennes where he scored nine goals in 16 appearances.
