It was hardly a thriller as unhappy fans who turned up at the Baba Yara Stadium saw the Black Stars laboured to a 1-1 draw against Uganda's Cranes in the 2015 AFCON Group E tie in Kumasi on Saturday.

Uganda provided the opposition for Kwesi Appiah's men and the home side struggled to make many inroads into the Cranes until Andre Ayew forced a shot past an impressive keeper to peck the scoring for the Black Stars.

But who played well? Who stank up the place? GHANAsoccernet.com's Akyereko Frimpong Manson rated the performance of players.

Fatau Dauda (Goalkeeper) 4.5/10

Obviously a below par performance from Dauda on an evening the Black Stars looked hapless against the Cranes. The highlight of his horrible night came in the 53rd minute when an innocuous diagonal shot beat him but luckily went against the near-post. He also conceded the first goal of the game.

Harrison Afful (Right-back) 5/10

The brilliant Esperance de Tunis man was surely more comfortable in his role but just couldn't link up well with the midfield and didn't get to surge forward more often as he known for. Can do better than what he did.

Jeffery Schlupp (Left-back) 5/10

An average performance. The Leicester City versatile full back marked his home debut for the West African giants after being named in Kwesi Appiah's defence. The Ugandans found joy in exploiting his weakness and a cross from his side of the defence resulted in the Ugandan opener. He also sent in some decent crosses. He needs time to develop fully.

John Boye (Central defender) 6/10

Though Boye committed a few blunders in the middle, but was solid at the back and prevented the Ugandan attackers from moving forward freely. He also helped by moving forward to join the attack on some few occasions.

Jonathan Mensah (Central defender) 6/10

Formed a solid defensive partnership with John Boye and kept the Ugandan attack under control though the first goal was conceded from central position. But he has shown that he experience despite his young age is very much needed by the Black Stars

Rabiu Mohammed (Central midfielder) 4.5/10

Failed to deliver the passes in the middle and gave away vital passes. Maybe this is his most disappointing  game for the Black Stars. With the right talks to motivate him he can improve.

Christian Atsu (Right Winger) 5/10

The Everton star came to light early in the first-half but went quiet for the rest of the minutes he lasted on the pitch. He was over powered by the hard working Ugandans.

Kwadwo Asamoah (Left Winger) 5/10

Asamoah was clearly shifted into the midfield to fill the void provided by Sulley Muntari's absence but he could not exert his influence on the game. Perhaps the left-back position brings more out of him than playing in central midfield which was difficult for him.

Asamoah Gyan (Forward) 5/10

The Black Stars captain came close to scoring twice but was denied by the Ugandan goalie. He should have finished a one-on-one opportunity provided him early in the first-half but he shot into the on-rushing keeper. The arrest of his brother could have affected his psyche for the match.

Abdul Majeed Waris (Forward) 5/10

Appeared to have lost his sharpness up and failed to push the Ugandan defenders. He won the soft penalty which was converted by Andre Ayew.

Andre Ayew (Attacker) 6/10

Scored a penalty to halve the scoring for the Black Stars and somehow was the outstanding player on the pitch. He was tenacious and created space in the middle but the stars clearly lacked the cutting edge.

BLACK STARS RATING - 4/10

The players look unmotivated for the match following days of angry protests over what happened at the World Cup. They will need to appease the fans off the field and also respond by defeating Togo to at least help erase the disappointing memory.
