Aduana Stars forward Yahaya Mohammed has fired shots ahead of the mid-week fixture against Asante Kotoko in matchday 11 of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League.
Yahaya is joint-leader on the Goal King chart with Victorien Adebayor on 10 goals and is looking to extend his tally against the Porcupine Warriors at the Nana Agyeman Badu Park at Dormaa.
The 32-year old scored a brace in last Sunday’s defeat to Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindorf Sports Stadium despite the team’s defeat to the home side.
Yahaya has vowed to score against his former club when both sides meet. “We are going to beat Asante Kotoko on Wednesday and I am going to score as well”, he told Asempa FM.
Aduana Stars will be hoping to bounce back from their matchday 10 defeat against Liberty Professionals whilst Asante Kotoko must win in Dormaa after drawing against AshantiGold in Kumasi last Saturday.
Asante Kotoko will also be looking to climb the league log in this encounter as they currently lie second on 18 points.
Kotoko drew in their last away game and will be hoping to beat Aduana Stars away to extend their lead on the table.
Elsewhere, Hearts of Oak will travel away to play against Karela at the Akoon Park in this matchday 11 fixture.
The Phobians have been impressive away this season but are yet to record a win against Karela United away in the Ghana Premier League.
Hearts of Oak needed a late goal on Sunday to beat Bechem United at home and will be much motivated ahead of this game in mid-week. Hearts currently lie seventh on the league log with 15th points, three points adrift of the league leaders
League leaders AshantiGold will host Dreams FC at the Len Clay Sports Stadium this midweek.
