2019 Africa Cup of Nations: Ghana yet to confirm second friendly for AFCON

The Black Stars of Ghana are yet to confirm their second friendly match ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The West Africa giants are expected to engage in two friendly games as part of preparations ahead the start of the continental showpiece.

Ghana were initially booked to play their West African counterparts Nigeria but the warm-up game was called off a few weeks ago.

The nation's football governing body announced a friendly encounter against South Africa but are yet to disclose the second game.

The game is scheduled to come off in Dubai where the team will be pitching their camp ahead of the tournament.

Ghana have been handed an opening game at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament against defending champions Cameroon, Benin and Guinea Bissau in Group F.

The top two teams from the group will automatically progress to the knockout stage, while the third-placed side will have to finish among the four best third-placed sides from all the groups to make the next round.

Ghana are four-time champions and last annexed the diadem in Libya 1982 after coming close in 1992, 2010 and 2015.
