The national U-20 football team, the Black Satellites of Ghana will depart to Morocco for the Africa Games on Wednesday, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.

The football team alongside side three other disciplines were supposed to leave on Tuesday but due to some last minutes hitches the team will leave on Wednesday.

Head coach Yaw Preko will travel with an 18-man squad for the tournament as he named his final team for the tournament on Monday.

Ghana U17 star Emmanuel Toku has been named as the captain of the side.

Also the current team will be dominated by local based players as Yaw Preko was unable to invite foreign players to augment his squad.

“I have been preparing the team with the materials I have at the moment. Looking at the time left, it will be very difficult to get any foreign player to augment the squad because most of them have begun pre-season”, he told Finder Sports.

He further went on to say that the target set for the team is to go and do well.

Ghana have been drawn in Group B of the 2019 All African Games to be hosted in Morocco.

The Black Satellites are in the same group with reigning Africa U20 Cup of Nations Champions Mali, as well as Senegal and Burundi.

The team takes on Burundi in the opening match at the StadeMunicipal in Kenitra on August 17 before facing Senegal four days later.

Ghana will wrap up their group stage campaign with a game against Mali on August 24.

The team has been camping at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence at Prampram for some months now.
