9 EPL transfers that could still happen including Arsenal and Man Utd deals

Published on: 29 January 2020

In the cases of some Premier League clubs, it will be better late then never.

The final few days of the transfer window promise to be pretty quiet across some top-flight outfits but fairly hectic among others, as clubs scramble for the late, late transfers that could save their seasons.

Whether it is adding some proven talent to completely overhaul and improve the way you play or just tweaking the squad to bring in some extra bodies, the window's final few days offer the chance for bosses to do the business that needs to be done.

Which transfers will be completed though?

Here's a look at 10 moves that could still come off.

Sander Berge to Sheffield United

Linked with several Premier League clubs including - and quite comically - Manchester United, Genk's 6ft 5ins midfielder is being chased by the Blades in the window's final days.

The Norwegian would certainly be a coup for Chris Wilder given his Champions League experience, and his signing would be a real statement of intent.

Krzysztof Piatek to Tottenham

The Pole has been one of the names considered by Spurs ever since the hamstring injury suffered by Harry Kane on New Year's Day, and you get the impression that he will end up somewhere new by the evening of January 31.

The deal will have to be right for Spurs though, with a loan switch perhaps benefiting all parties.

Kyle Walker-Peters to Southampton

The English youngster clearly hasn't caught the eye of Jose Mourinho during the manager's time at Tottenham, with the Portuguese preferring to use Serge Aurier or Japhet Tanganga at right-back.

A loan deal with the Saints could be a welcome kick-start for him, especially as...

Cedric Soares to Arsenal

This would be something of a surprise move to many, but the Portuguese would at least offer some experience to an Arsenal side who often play either converted midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles or the only recently fit again Hector Bellerin at right-back.

Cedric is out of contract at the end of the season, and the Gunners are keen .

A somewhat surprising link that emerged on Wednesday, Mertens would bring experience and goals to a Chelsea attack that badly needs both.

The Belgian is a club legend at Napoli, and is just two goals short of Marek Hamsik's club record of 121.

He has just six months left on his contract so the Serie A club could cash in now.

Nathan Ferguson to Crystal Palace

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a breakout season at West Brom, where his impressive displays have helped Slaven Bilic's side sustain their promotion push.

He has repeatedly been linked with a move to the Premier League before the Baggies get there though, and he could provide some much needed youth at Palace.

Olivier Giroud to Tottenham

This would clearly depend on the Piatek deal , but with the Frenchman looking to move on in order to gain some game-time ahead of Euro 2020 he could end up at Spurs.

The former Arsenal man is likely to try and engineer a move from Chelsea whatever happens, although a switch to Inter appears to have stalled.

Josh Brownhill to Burnley

The Bristol City midfielder has long been linked with a switch to Turf Moor, and Burnley could end up stepping up their interest in the window's final few days.

The 24-year-old was once on the books at Manchester United, and could be set for a move back to the north-west.

Danny Rose to Newcastle

Seemingly forever linked with a departure from Tottenham, this could be the window when Rose finally moves on from north London.

Newcastle seem to be positioning themselves for late move, although it remains to be seen whether this is the time he'll finally leave.
