Ablordey begins role as Kotoko team manager

Former Asante Kotoko captain Godwin Ablordey has assumed his position as assistant reserve Team Manager.

He has been familiarizing himself with the new structures at the club.

But Ablordey was spotted on the first team bench last Sunday during Kotoko's 2-0 win over Liberty Professionals in the Premier League.

"Rather, Ablordey was drafted from the reserves side to work with the seniors due to man power challenges we had for the day," the club's Administrative Manager Ben Nti explained.

"The substantive Team Manager Owusu Ansah was not available for the match so his role as the operations manager had to be performed by his assistant, Kwame Kyem Mainoo. Ablordey was therefore brought to serve as the Team Manager of the seniors for that match."

Ablordey joined Porcupine Warriors in the 1998/1999 from rivals Hearts of Oak.

He left the club in 2003 to to sign for city-rivals King Faisal.
