AC Milan initiate renewal talks with winger

Suso is in line for another AC Milan contract extension after the club opened tentative early talks over such a deal with his representative.

In September 2017, the Spaniard penned a new deal at the San Siro which will tie him to the club until the summer of 2022 and he has confirmed himself that talks are now underway over a renewal.

“I’m very happy here, very happy. The first contact has taken place [with the club] and there will be more but that’s something that my agent is in charge of,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “I have given everything for this club and will continue to do so.”

In recent days, his agent Alessandro Lucci was at the club’s offices for talks with the Diavolo hierarchy and before the end of the campaign, it is expected that he will put pen to paper on an extension.

Discussions are believed to be centred on extending his stay by a further two years until 2024, while also increasing his salary based on where the club finish at the end of the campaign.

For Suso, as well as other players, his situation is dependent on whether Milan gain qualification for the Champions League, which will determine his wage hike, as well as whether the permanent acquisitions of players like Tiemoue Bakayoko can be given the green light.

Suso has turned down offers to leave the San Siro in the past, notably snubbing interest from Atletico Madrid to remain with Gennaro Gattuso’s men.
