AFCON 2019 qualifier: Black Stars start training in Accra this evening ahead of Kenya clash

The Black Stars will begin training on Tuesday evening at the Accra Sports stadium ahead of the final AFCON qualifier against Kenya on Sunday. 

The team will report at the Accra Sports Stadium at 4:00 pm, where coach Kwesi Appiah will send the players through some warm up and drills session.

Coach Kwesi Appiah named a 24-man squad for the game against the Harambee stars but 19 players have reported with the rest expected to arrive in the country later today.

Asante Koto trio of Felix Annan, Amos Frompong and Kwame Bonsu will join the team in Accra on Tuesday after returning from Zambia following their CAF Confederation Cup exit.

Meanwhile, Inter star Kwadwo Asamoah is among few players yet to arrive after playing part in club football last Sunday.

Kwesi Appiah will use the game against Kenya as part of preparations for the AFCON in Egypt, having already qualified for the tournament.

The team will play Mauritania three days later in an international friendly, with Kwesi Appiah expected to name his final squad for the tournament after the two game.
