West Bromwich Albion new boy Semi Ajayi has his sights set on trying to help the Baggies secure promotion back to the Premier League.

The 25-year-old centre-back has joined Albion for an undisclosed fee, signing a four-year contract to seal his move from Rotherham United.

I want to play my part in helping the team get promoted, because that is definitely the target.

And Ajayi, who has also enjoyed spells with Arsenal and Cardiff City, is clear about what the target is for himself and his new team-mates.

He told the official Albion website: "It's a great opportunity for me. I want to play at the highest level and I have joined a club with the ambition to get there.

"I want to play my part in helping the team get promoted, because that is definitely the target."

Ajayi is the second new arrival at The Hawthorns in the last few days, with Danish striker Kenneth Zohore have been recruited from Cardiff City following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season.

The 25-year-old had been with the Bluebirds since January 2016, scoring 24 goals in 101 appearances in all competitions, before heading to the Midlands on a four-year contract.

Albion head coach Slaven Bilic said of Zohore: "He is a player who has got more than a bit of everything - he's strong, he has pace, he has good skill.

"He knows the league, he knows the country, he's already got good experience, but he's still got room to improve. He's not the finished article."

West Brom are available at 12/1 to win the Championship title this season, while they are 7/2 to gain promotion back to the top-flight.
