US Sassuolo midfielder Alfred Duncan has expressed his disappointment in their defeat against Atalanta claiming that the two goals he scored in the game were useless.

The Neroverdi suffered their worst defeat in the top flight after they were battered 6-2 in front of their teeming fans at the Mapei Stadium on Saturday.

Speaking after the game, Duncan who got the two consolation strikes for Roberto De Zerbi’s men claims the goals were useless.

"My goals were useless. Defeat makes us end the year in a way that hurts. We must immediately get back to the new year. We often fail to make the leap in quality, that extra something that always keeps us down. We must try to improve quickly. Nobody gives us anything.”

“The approach was not the best, but the final was disastrous. When the fourth goal came, the team went into mental trouble. We did not defend with the right wickedness and we were not at the top. The result proves it.”

“Closing the year is not so easy . We will try to give continuity in the second round.”
