Andre Ayew wins man-of-the-match award after Ghana-Mali clash

Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew was voted the Man-of-the-Match for his heroics in the Black Stars' 2-0 victory over Mali at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday.

The youngster, who plays for Marseille, was instrumental as the Black Stars blew away their opponents with a masterful second-half performance.

Ayew put in an great performance in the game before his outstanding goal in Franceville sealed the victory for the Black Stars.

The son of legend Abedi Pele dedicated the trophy to the coach Goran Stevanovic and his team-mates for helping him excel in the game.

"I am proud to pick up this award," Andre said.

"I want to thank the players and coach for helping me win this award."

"I dedicate this award to the whole team. I didn't do it alone but had the help of my colleagues to win it."

He is the second Ghanaian to pick up the award after defender John Boye picked up the top award in their opening game against Botswana last Tuesday.
