Hearts of Oak midfielder Uriah Asante insists his side are not giving up on the title chase despite being a staggering nine points behind leaders Asante Kotoko.
The Phobians have only won once in five games since the start of the second round of the Ghanaian topflight.
Their recent slump and the surge in form of Kotoko makes many believe it will be impossible to catch the Porcupine Warriors but the 19-year-old begs to differ.
ââ¬ÅI would want to encourage my colleagues to work very hard and try to win the league title,â⬠he said.
ââ¬ÅIt has happened before; there was a time when Kotoko was leading with twelve points and Hearts eventually managed to bounce back to win the league by a point.
ââ¬ÅSo there is a possibility of us bouncing back to win it, we are not throwing in the towel yet.
ââ¬ÅWe still have some more matches to play so Kotoko should not think they have won the league yet.ââ¬
Hearts will be looking to get back to winning ways with their new coach C.K Akunnor when they host Liberty Professionals on Sunday.
