Asante Kotoko midfielder Mudasiru Salifu has been sidelined for up to six weeks after suffering a groin injury, according to a report by Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.
The lionhearted player suffered the setback after just 28 minutes during Sunday's Ghana Premier League derby against Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.
His forced substitution created a vacuum in midfield but Kotoko ended the game with a win.
Salifu suffered a similar injury during the 1-0 defeat to Berekum Chelsea at home.
He missed the games against Medeama and Ebusua Dwarfs but returned for the Super Clash.
