Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko George Amoako says he not unruffled when Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin tendered in his resignation letter.

The 50-year-old gaffer resigned as head coach of the club on Thursday after seven months in the dug-out of the club.

However, reports suggest that the burly trainer resigned over a leaked video, where he was captured to be discussing a possible move to an unnamed club president in South Africa.

The former Ghana U-17 coach was heard saying that he will fly to South Africa if the club is able to wire some amount of money to his account to settle his family before coming.

However, Mr. Amoako says he was never surprised when Paa Kwesi Fabin tendered in his resignation letter.

"I was not surprised when Paa Kwesi Fabin tendered in his resignation," he told Nhyira FM.

"I had him on video three months ago after playing our friendly in Tanzania talking to a president of a club in South Africa but I did not want him to talk about that.

"I never wanted to confront coach Fabian after getting to see the video in which he [Paa Kwesi Fabin] was seen negotiating for a contract and I did that because I wanted the stability in the club to continue

"I was only praying that we finish playing the Hearts of Oak."

He further reveals that the management of the club never had the had intention to sack the coach.

"I have had several interactions with him [Paa Kwesi Fabin] but he never said he wanted to leave the club.

"He has his own plan because we don't have any plan to sack him but he wants to force his way out.

"He has been doing very well. He has been able to beat Hearts of Oak back-to-back and our regional rivals [Ashgold] in the 'Golden Clash' first league.

"If he wants to leave the club, he should leave us in peace but I can assure him that he will come and see Kotoko in a better position.

"I have heard a lot of things he has said about and it is very funny. He has accused me of doing neglecting him which I have not done that.

"He has been acting funny anytime someone faults him but I will call him and apologize but his attitude has been very unprofessional but I want insists that no management member wanted him to be sacked.

"He has six months left on his contract so why should we show him the exit door? he quizzed.

"Paa Kwesi Fabin has got a better contract and we wish him but he should comply with his contract.

Quizzed if the club will appoint will appoint an expatriate coach, he said, "We are looking forward to appoint a local coach because we believe that there are competent coach in the country and we will work to get the best coach for the club," he added.

However, in a statement released on Thursday by the management of the club cited that assistant coach of the club, Akakpo Patron has been tasked to take over as the head coach of the club.
