Chief Executive Officer of Ashantigold Fredrick Acheapong has revealed his desire to win a trophy with the club as they gear up for the JAK Cup against Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

The miners will play their regional rivals at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi for the coveted J.A kuffuor Cup which is in celebrations of the 80th birthday of the ex-Ghana President.

Ahead of the game, Fredrick Acheampong disclosed winning the cup will represent the hard work done since he assumed office.

“Since we took over the club, we have done a lot. We need something significant to show for that,” Acheampong told the media.

“The game against Kotoko gives us a perfect opportunity to win our first trophy since we took over the club.

“Choosing us to play Kotoko is the best decision taken by the organizers because we are the only club who can beat them and exploit their weaknesses ahead of their trip to Cameroon [for Kotoko’s CAF Confederation Cup match against Coton Sport].”
