Ashantigold defender Eric Donkor backs teammate Richard Osei Agyemang after RS Berkane mistakes

Experienced defender Eric Donkor has strongly defended teammate Richard Osei Agyemang after having a bad game against RS Berkane in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Agyemang was subjected to severe backlash after his mistakes led to the Moroccans scoring twice in Obuasi in the first leg.

Despite having a bad day in office, teammate Eric Donkor believes Agyemang will bounce back stronger and feels every player gets a poor game sometimes.

“Bad days happen in football. I will not feel good if I were in his shoes but we are a team. We win together and lose together. We are just encouraging each other and you can see the support we are giving to each other,” Citisportsonline.com quotes him.

“We need to fight as a team. Osei Agyemang has been fantastic for us and so, one bad day does not mean he is a bad player. He needs to keep his head up and we fight together.”

The Miners travel to Morocco in a fortnight time for the second leg, with the winner on aggregate scoreline progressing to the next stage.
