Aston Villa interested in Torino goalkeeper

Premier League side Aston Villa are reportedly keen on signing Torino goalkeeper Daniele Padelli, who has recently lost his first-team spot with Il Toro.

In recent weeks, coach Giampiero Ventura has preferred Uruguayan Salvador Ichazo to the Italian and it’s now believed Padelli would like to move to secure first-team football although it’s unclear if he will want to join a side so at risk of relegation.

According to the Daily Express, the Villans coach Remi Garde is eager to improve his goalkeeping options after growing impatient with Brad Guzan and Padelli is seen as an upgrade on the American.

This season the 30-year-old has made 18 league starts for the Granata, keeping just three clean sheets and conceding 23 goals.

Padelli has experienced Premier League football before after spending a season on loan at Liverpool, however, the Italian made just one league start on Merseyside.
