Badu wants Kevin Boateng to return for Ghana

Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu says the country's football authorities must convince  Kevin Prince Boateng to return to the Black Stars.

The Italy-based enforcer wants Michael Essien's quick return for the country claiming the Chelsea players’s inclusion will boost their chances of winning the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations title.

Boateng retired from the Black Stars in November claiming his travel with the country will affect his him healthwise.

Essien sought permission to be excused from international duty after recovering from a nine-month injury lay-off but has resumed playing for Chelsea after recovering from the knee injury.

Both players were not available for the Black Stars at the just-ended 2012 Africa Cup of Nations

But in the wake of the Black Stars semi-final exit in the tournament, Badu says the two players will contribute positively to the Black Stars in future.

“Everyone needs players like them (Boateng and Essien)," Badu said.

"If Kevin says he will play why not because any coach, even Carlo Ancelloti, will never hesitate to work with these two players since they are world class players.

"For Essien I’m 85 percent sure he will return but Kevin I can’t tell but I will try and talk to him."

Essien has returned to action for Chelsea and has been impressive since recovering from the injury while Boateng has been in smashing form for AC Milan.
