BAYERN MUNICH - Bayern Munich make easy work of Werder Bremen

Published on: 13 March 2016

Bayern Munich soundly beat Werder Bremen 5-0 in the German Bundesliga with Thomas Müller and Thiago Alcántara both scoring twice and Robert Lewandowski getting another.

Bayern Munich were firmly in control of the match against a depleted Werder Bremen side due to various injuries. In the 9th minute Kingsley Coman provided Thiago Alcántara with an assist for the latter to open the scoring. An almost identical move involving Coman led to Thomas Müller getting the second shortly after the half-hour mark.

The recital continued after the break. Müller got his 19th goal of the season in the 66th minute when he pounced on the rebound after Felix Wiedwald had stopped Franck Ribéry's initial shot. When the game seemed over and done with, Lewandowski appeared in the 87th minute to get his 24th Bundesliga goal this term. And then in stoppage time Thiago Alcántara got Bayern Munich's fifth following another Coman intervention.
