Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri is confident it will only take Bayern Munich target Callum Hudson-Odoi one or two months to reach the same level as other wingers in the Blues setup.

Hudson-Odoi, who is said to be considering swapping Stamford Bridge for Allianz Arena, made an appearance in Chelsea's 2-1 Premier League win over Newcastle United over the weekend.

It was the youngster's second premier league appearance and he didn't disappoint, leading to chants of "Hudson-Odoi, we want you to stay" by the supporters.

And speaking after the game, Sarri said: "The bench is not really very short.

"It's short only for one position at the moment, because I think [Hudson-Odoi] is improving. In one, two months, he will be at the same level as the other players."

Bayern Munich have reportedly made a bid £35 million bid for Hudson-Odoi and are confident they will complete the deal this month.

Hudson-Odoi is the son of former Hearts of Oak Ghanaian midfielder Bismark Odoi which makes him eligible to play for the senior national team, Black Stars, despite representing England at every age group from under-16 to under-19 level.

He was an influential figure as England won the Fifa U-17 World Cup in 2017.
