Bottom-placed Bechem United picked their first win of the Ghana league season by beating ten-man Medeama 1-0 at the newly approved Bechem Park on Sunday.

Bechem who had played their home matches in Kumasi seem to have gained the benefits of playing at home with their first game in Bechem.

Richard Addae claimed all three points for the strugglers with a 54th minute finish from a corner-kick.

It was a game Bechem United traded their woes and worries for victory.

Dan Owusu's side showed great resilience and commanding display against an under-performing Medeama side.

Bechem playing at their newly approved venue in Bechem showed a lot of determination and durability in their play especially in their play.

They did not look like a side who seems to be destined for a return to the second-tier.

They marched Medeama boot-for-boot in midfield in the first half and took command of the game in the second department.

Medeama presented a lot of quality in their attacking line up the debutants' defenders held them in close check.

Nine minutes after recess, striker Richard Addae delivered the points for Bechem United with a spectacular finish.

The striker prodded home a powerful corner from just outside of the box.

August Sefah did some disservice to Medeama who were hanging on to hopes of grabbing the equaliser.

Referee E R Barney had awarded a foul to the defender who had been fouled but he notoriously got up from his pain to slap a member of the Red Cross team.
