Black Queens and FK Minsk defender Faustina Ampah says she is "humbled and honoured" by her nomination for the female footballer of the year at the upcoming SWAG awards.

The defender had an excellent season in Belarus, winning multiple titles with FK Minsk.

She was also part of the Black Queens team that won the WAFU Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast last year but had a disappointing Africa Women's Cup of Nations in Ghana last November.

Ampah has been nominated alongside FIFA U-17 World Cup star Abdulai Mukarama and Ampem Darkoa play maker Grace Asantewaa.

"I'm super excited and humble to be honoured as a nominee for the SWAG Awards, Female Footballer of the Year. It's a huge motivation for me to up it and get going up and up. Thanks very much," she posted on Twitter.

The 44th Sports Writers Association of Ghana awards night will be held on May 11, 2019.
