Black Satellites assistant coach Amadu Nurudeen reiterates desire to qualify for the World Cup ahead of Mali game

Assistant coach of the Black Satellites Amadu Nurudeen says the Ghana wants to qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland later this year. 

The Black Satellites will have to overcome the last hurdle in group B, when they play Mali on Saturday, with a win or draw sending them to the global showpiece.

Mali have been one of Ghana's nemesis at youth competitions but coach Nurudeen is hopeful of a positive outcome from the game.

"Every country wants to qualify for the 2nd phase of this tournament and our goal is to qualify for the World Cup. It is true that each team has three points but our wish is that Ghana will overcome this obstacle," Nurudeen said in a pre-match interview.

The winner of the game will join Senegal, South Africa and Nigeria to the World Cup and in the semifinals of the competition.

Ghana is the only country on the continent to win the FIFA U-20 World Cup and are also three times champions of the Africa Youth Championship.
