Ghana U-17 forward Samson Agyapong has lauded his Black Starlets teammates after picking up the Man of The Match accolade in the victory over Ivory Coast on Wednesday.

The Black Starlets defeated the young Elephants 2-1 to book a place in the finals of the WAFU U-17 Zone B championship in Niger.

Samson Agyapong played a key role as the ten man Black Starlets progress. His performances caught the eyes of the WAFU technical team, hence naming him man of the match.

The unselfish youngster praised his teammates for the victory and credited the entire team for his spectacular outing.

“The reward of this is for all the team because we had to apply what they taught us in the game and not to give up. It showed when we went down. This reward is for all the team,” he said in a post match conference.

The Black Starlets will next face Nigeria in the final of the competition with a place at the Africa Juvenile Championship in Tanzania next year on the table for grabs.
