Ghana will be one of the seeded teams for African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals when the draw is held on on 21 January 2020 at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Cairo, Egypt.

With the latest FIFA rankings expected to determine the seedings, the Black Stars-ranked sixth on the continent-will be in Pot one.

Senegal, Tunisia, Nigeria, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Cameroon, Mali and DR Congo will also be seeded.

All the top seeds, with the exception of the Eagles of Mali, have played at the World Cup.

The second qualifying round will see the top 26 ranked teams on the continent joined by the 14 winners from the first round.

These teams will be drawn into ten groups of four teams.

The matches will start from the weekend of 23–31 March 2020 and end finish on the weekend of 4–12 October 2021.

Ghana played in three consecutive World Cup finals from 2006 before missing out on a slot at the last edition in Russa 2018.
