Ghana line-up friendlies against Gabon, Sierra Leone

Published on: 07 November 2011

The Ghana FA has confirmed that the Black Stars will play Nations Cup co-hosts Gabon and Sierra Leone in this month's double decker friendlies in Paris.

The Black Stars will entertain Sierra Leone on 12 November before playing Gabon three days later.

The match will serve as the Black Stars final preparatory matches before the squad for January's Africa Cup of Nations is named.

Ghana have been struggling for friendlies but their tough African countries they had planned on playing had reached earlier deals.

There were reports of matches against Ivory Coast and Senegal which the Ghana FA boss played down.

But with Gabon and Sierra Leone keen on impressing, they will give the Black Stars the needed tests to try out their players.

Ghana last played the Azingo Nationale in 2008 and won 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium in a 2010 Fifa World Cup qualifier.

But Gabon have since come on in leaps and bounce and will play Brazil on 10 November.

They will face Niger, Morocco and Tunisia at the Nations Cup finals.
