Breaking News: Medeama to withdraw from Special Competition over ‘fixture faux pas’
Medeama

Medeama have pulled out of next week’s Special Competition over what it describes as ‘misplaced and bogus’ fixtures, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.

GHANASoccernet.com understands the Tarkwa-based communicated their decision to the Ghana FA secretariat on Friday, 8 February, 2019 stating their displeasure.

The Mauve and Yellows have froth at the mouth after being housed in the Northern Zone, insisting the demarcation is untenable.

Medeama, who are based in the Western region, is geographically located in the Southern part of Ghana.

But the club have been placed among the Northern Zone teams which has angered the two-time FA Cup winners.

GHANAsoccernet.com understands the club will rescind their decision if they are re-categorised in the Southern sector.

It is unclear what led to the decision to place the club in the Northern zone but the current scenario threatens the competition which has suffered several postponements.

The Normalisation Committee Special Competition is scheduled to start on 16 February for Ghana Premier League sides.
