Deputy coach of Kariobangi Sharks Charles Ballo Thuku is not buying into their favourites tag ahead of the CAF Confederation Cup clash against Asante Kotoko on Saturday.

The Kenyan side advanced to the second round of the qualifying stage after annihilating Djibouti side Arta Solar 9-1 on aggregate.

The Sharks will on Saturday play as hosts to Asante Kotoko in the first leg of the but the club's assistant gaffer Thuku is not accepting the fact that his outfit will go into the match as favourites following the Porcupines inactiveness.

"Let’s wait for the match and see what will happen because we cannot say we will beat them and yet we have not played with them in any match or we have not seen them, they have also not seen us so we just wait for Saturday's match and will see what will happen on the pitch," coach Thuku stated on Oyerepa FM.

"Knowing your opponents will not be an issue but knowing their style of play is."

"We are taking the match seriously as Kotoko is even though we understand Kotoko has not been playing competitive matches of late."

"The day will decide for the two teams, we respect them very much and will give them good football so they also play well and both teams sell to the fans good football."
