Cameroon FA has elected Seidou Mbombo Njoya as their new president to end five years of chaos as the heart of the administration of the game in the country.
Mbombo coasted to the landslide victory on Wednesday at the elections held at the CAF Center of Excellence in Mbankomo in Yaoundé.
He secured 46 out of the 66 to soundly thrash former international goalkeeper Joseph Antoine BELL who could only garner 17 votes while Daniel NYAMSI MONGUE managed just three votes.
"My mission will also be to gather the football family for a new start, for a change on a new foundation," Mbombo said after his emphatic victory.
"What is important is the methods of governance and management - this must change in Cameroonian football.
"It is also putting forward ethics and that is the most important thing to do today for Cameroon football. "
The election of Mbombo ends the five years of chaos and turmoil surrounding the Cameroon governing body after the spectacular arrest of Iya Mohammed six years ago after managing the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) since 2000.
Since the departure of Iya Mohammed three administrations have succeeded one another, including two FIFA Normalization Committees and an elected leader who was prevented by the courts.
All candidates have committed to respect the results of the ballot box, hoping that the winner will completely devote himself to developing football in Cameroon.
