Sulley Muntari fears facing AC Milan fine for holiday injury

Ghana star Sulley Muntari has admitted that there is the possibility that he could be fined by Milan for picking up a serious injury on holiday.

The midfielder ruptured his anterior cruciate knee ligaments and has undergone surgery to correct the problem.

There are reports his wages will be cut as he will spend close to six months on the sidelines.

"It happened while I was playing with some friends on a football field,'' the 27-year-old told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani is right to be angry about it, but he has assured me that the club will wait for me to return to full fitness.

"I'm disappointed, but it will now be up to the club to decide whether they fine me or not.''

Muntari scored three goals in 13 Serie A appearances for Milan after joining the club on loan from Inter in January.
