Ex- Hearts of Oak star Charles Taylor insist he will play for Hearts of Oak oldies  in Wednesday’s friendly game against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko oldies despite warnings from some Hearts of Oak fans.

Taylor has received threats from some Hearts of Oak fans ahead of the game and he has been told not to honour the game.

Charles Taylor is billed to play for Hearts of Oak in Wednesday’s game against his former club Asante Kotoko however some fans of Hearts of Oak see his transfer from the team to their arch-rivals as a betrayal, thus they object to him wearing the rainbow colors as well as disregard him as a former player of the club.

“I will be at the Accra Sports Stadium and I will play for Accra Hearts of Oak against Kotoko on Wednesday because I have been training with Hearts of Oak all the time and I won’t run away definitely I shall be there tomorrow, he told Happy FM.

He also revealed that his life has been threatened by an unknown Hearts of Oak fan ahead of Wednesday’s game.

“The man threatened to kill me if I come to Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday so I reported the case to the Teshie Police Station.

“Unfortunately, my phone didn’t record the conversation there’s more to the tape that is making rounds, it is not the full conversation. The man added text messages apart from the phone call and I was at the police station when he was texting me all those nonsensical threats in the presence of the police.

“I have not insulted anybody so why should Hearts of Oak supporters call me names. I am not afraid of anybody. I will be at the stadium on Wednesday to play for them whether they gave me a jersey or not”, he concluded.

Hearts of Oak oldies will take on Asante Kotoko oldies in a ceremonial game which comes off at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday 6 March 2019.
