In a statement issued by a club spokesman, Chelsea striker Diego Costa has insisted he didn't bite Gareth Barry: "Diego spoke to club officials after the game and expressed regret over his reaction to the challenge from Gareth Barry that led to his red card."
Then, he added: "But Diego was also very clear that he did not bite him at any point during that altercation."
Costa, who had already been booked, reacted to a foul by the Toffees veteran, jumping to his feet and pushing his head into his opponent.
