Club owners pick "trusted" delegates to vote at crucial Ghana FA elections as panic hits aspirants

Ghana League owners have chosen 'trusted' delegates to vote at the crucial FA elections next month, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.

The move has sparked anxiety among candidates contesting for top positions including the president of the association.

It appears club owners will  have a larger say in deciding who leads Ghana football after leaving the decision to low-level managers over the years.

GHANAsoccernet.com understands that close confidantes and relatives will be picked to vote at the Elective Congress on October 25, a clear departure from low-level management members who have consistently been trusted with the voting duty.

Media reports have claimed Berekum Chelsea owner Obed Nana Kwame Nketiah, who is backing George Afriyie, has chosen his nephew Francis Adjei to vote on behalf of the club.

If the move is concretized, director of the club Nana Oduro Sarfo, who support Kurt Okraku will be yanked from voting.

It has been also been claimed Aduana Stars owner Nana Agyemang Badu has picked his two sons to vote at congress with the voting right of long-standing management member George Gyau and CEO Albert Commey unclear.

There are reports suggesting Techiman City general manager Takyi Arhin won't be allowed to vote as panic hits several of the presidential aspirants.

The move has become necessary amid widespread suspicion persons selected to vote have consistently been swayed  by monetary consideration, cronyism and nepotism at the detriment of football.

Division One League owners will either vote themselves or chose reliable representatives to vote at the hugely anticipated elections.

Ghana football go to the polls to elect the new leader of Ghanaian football on October 25.

Prior to that election for an Executive Council position will take place on October 24.
