CONFIRMED: Asante Kotoko trio in Ghana squad for Kenya AFCON qualifier
Kwame Bonsu

Asante Kotoko trio Felix Annan, Amos Frimpong and Kwame Bonsu have been handed call-ups into the Black Stars ahead of the final 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya later this month.

The three players have been rewarded for steering Kotoko's CAF Confederation Cup campaign so far and all featured in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Sudanese side Al Hilal.

The decision by coach Kwesi Appiah to hand call-up to midfielder Kwame Bonsu, who is free from captivity, after spending some time in jail in Sweden, will be refreshing for local fans.

The former Gefle IF enforcer has been the steering wheel for the Porcupine Warriors helping the side to a second-place in Group C.

It's been a remarkable turnaround for the midfield maestro, who has returned from incarceration to continue his career with aplomb.

Kotoko defender and captain Frimpong is earning his debut call into the national team after an excellent showing for the side over the years.

The versatile captain is being rewarded as playing so well for the Ghanaian giants in Africa inter club competition.

The inclusion of goalkeeper Annan has been highly anticipated after an explosive form on the domestic front.
