Conte lined up by Premier League giants

Italy coach Antonio Conte is being lined up to replace interim coach Guus Hiddink at Chelsea.

The 46-year-old is set to take over at Stamford Bridge after the European Championships.

Daily Mail report that the former Juventus coach tops Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich’s shortlist to succeed current incumbent Hiddink after his heroics with the Old Lady from 2011 to 2014.

Conte steered the Bianconeri to three straight Serie A crowns and qualified for this summer’s European Championships without losing a single game with the Azzurri.

The report suggests that Conte attended a meeting with Chelsea representatives in December after Jose Mourinho was dismissed.

The Azzurri coach’s successor at Juventus Massimiliano Allegri also intrigues the Chelsea hierarchy while current Tottenham Hotspurs coach Mauricio Pochettino has also been mooted as an option.
