Croatia midfielder’s agent open to Inter exit

The agent of Croatia international Marcelo Brozovic has taken advantage of the nation’s World Cup final run by talking up a potential summer switch for his client.

This summer, the 25-year-old has played in five games and contributed one assist to help his country reach Sunday’s final against France in Moscow.

That may have alerted clubs to the midfield ace and although his agent Miroslav Bicanic claimed that he is happy at Inter, he refused to rule out the possibility of a departure, particularly if a new contract isn’t agreed.

“Marcelo is good at Inter. He’s happy and could renew his current contract on better terms,” Bicanic said in an interview with Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti.

“But it is also possible that an English club or a side in another country will pay his release clause of €50 million. We aren’t in a hurry because he’s happy at Inter.

“After the World Cup, he’ll go on holiday. But if someone wants him, then they can always contact us.”

Brozovic’s current contract at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza runs until June 2021 and sees the World Cup finalist earn €2.5m per year.
