Cuadrado: Juventus must take positives from Bayern Munich draw

Published on: 24 February 2016

Having secured a dramatic 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday, Juventus winger, Juan Cuadrado has called on his teammates to disregard their slow-starting performance and focus solely on the positives.

The Bianconeri were initially losing 2-0 during the match, although they ultimately clawed the back the deficit thanks to well-taken strikes from Paulo Dybala and Stefano Sturaro.

“We knew we were facing a tough game against a very good team,” said Cuadrado to the official Juventus website. “We struggled at times but there are plenty of positives for us to take from this result.

“Especially the way we played in the second half and how we battled our way back into the tie.”

In particular, the former Fiorentina and Chelsea man has encouraged the Old Lady to imitate the type of play that they displayed in the second-half of the match, as well as recognising that they do have the ability to overcome the impressive Germans.

“We now know that we need to start in Munich the way we finished tonight,” Cuadrado added. “If we do that then we have a chance.

“They have some exceptional players but we showed that we also have great qualities and that is something we must bear in mind for the second leg.

“We have to go there believing we can win.”

The return fixture will be played at the Allianz Arena on March 16.
