David Amoo is looking to pull on a Preston shirt in anger for the first time and show the fans what he is about.
The summer signing from Liverpool has missed the opening two pre-season friendlies but is hopeful of his first involvement at Morecambe on Saturday.
And back in the ranks he is desperate to remind everyone he is at the Club and show people what he is capable of. Speaking to the official website to look forward to the game he admitted his frustration at his delayed start to his PNE career, but says he is ready to get going. "It will be good just to put on the Preston kit to announce that I am here, that I am a Preston player because you are not really player when you are in the training ground and not playing the games, so it will be great to get in front of the fans and show them what I can do," he told PNE.Com. "It's been a bit frustrating. I got a little bit of a groin strain the other week, but hopefully it has settled down and I will be back for the Morecambe game on Saturday. It is so frustrating watching the boys playing, you want to be involved, so it will be great to get involved on Saturday." The pacy forward has enjoyed his time with his new team-mates and even sat on the sidelines has seen positive times in the opening two games, as well as in the dressing room.
"It's pretty crazy! Everyone has really gelled," he continued. "Everyone gets along, there have been no problems whatsoever. I think it's the fact that individually they are just a good set of lads, and when good people come together usually it works out well, so I think we will do really well. The team spirit is really good , so we'll do fine.
"It looks good [in the games]. From the back we look really solid; pushing up we are passing the ball well. We look sharp; we look fit and already even at this early stage of pre-season things look good. We just can't wait for the games. We have Morecambe, then AEK Athens and Leeds United, and everyone is ready to show what they can do."
And the hard, but smart, work being done on the training ground is something the 21-year-old feels is sinking in with the squad: "The manager takes no short cuts with us. When we come in we know we are coming in to work.
"He sets the standards high and we have to reach those standards. He is being patient with us. He is letting us know his ideas slowly and it will come together. We will learn his ideas and everyone will really start to push on which is great."
And one thing he is looking forward to is seeing the continued level of support from the terraces: "I'm not surprised by the level of support we have seen so far. When I was on loan at Bury the Preston fans that came to Bury outnumbered the Bury fans, so I know what the Preston fans are like - they are fantastic and the support the boys have had at Southport and Chorley has been tremendous, which is no surprise to us."
