Marcel Desailly insists he is not looking to immediately jump into coaching after turning down an approach from Swansea.
The 43-year-old ex Chelsea captain was heavily linked to filling the vacant managerial role at The Swans but rejected their overtures saying the time was not right.
Desailly, who was born in Ghana but captained and won the World Cup with France re-emphasized this position by saying he is pacing himself for the right time to take up his first coaching job and will only take it up at his own appointed time.
“At a point where the media will stop to anticipate I am a potential preposition,†he said in response to a question of when he decides to take up a coaching job.
“It is like every single time that there is a free place somewhere, then Marcel Desailly is potentially the candidate and he has rejected.
“No, it is not like this. There have been some discussion (about Swansea) but I didn’t like the idea of going quickly.
“I know exactly step by step where I am going and and when the moment will come.â€
Desailly was in the running to become head coach of the Ghana national team when the position became vacant after the Black Stars' successful 2010 World Cup campaign.
He however withdrew from the process claiming it was 'over stalling' but re-emerged as the preferred candidate when the job became vacant again after the 2012 Nations Cup but this time around, insisted he was not interested.
