Disqualified Ghana FA presidential aspirants lose appeal

Published on: 20 May 2011

The Dispute Resolution Committee has upheld an appeal by disqualified Ghana FA presidential duo Neil Amstrong-Mortagbe and Vincent-Sowah Odotei, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The Elections Committee rejected the candidatures of the contestants because of the problems of getting ten voters each to nominate them to stand the election.

Some were said to have forged the signatures of team owners which goes against article 28.6 of the GFA Statutes.

Kwesi Nyantakyi was expected to be elected unopposed but the federation's highest ruling body Executive Committee postponed the elections initially fixed for 28 April pending the outcome of the petition.

A new date will be fixed by the Executive Commitee.
