Professor J.K Mintah has turned down the chance to become Ghanaââ¬â¢s womenââ¬â¢s national team coach, according to reports in the local media.
The FA is in the market for a new coach with uncertaintyà surrounding the future of Kuuku Dadzie and had earmarked the Ebusua Dwarfs trainer as the ideal candidate for the position.
But media reports in Ghana have suggested the Black Stars psychologist has politely down the request to focus on his club duties with the Cape Coast-based side.
Dazdie failed to qualify the Black Queens to the African Womenââ¬â¢s Championship in Equatorial Guinea last year.
The West African country missed out on Africaââ¬â¢s flagship womenââ¬â¢s football tournament for the first time since the inception of the biennial championship in 1998.
The Ghana FA has insisted Dadzie remains in charge despite being not been included in the team that will travel to Cote Dââ¬â¢on Tuesday for the Wafu tournament.
The Black Queens have been drawn against Benin and Senegal in Group B of the maiden edition of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone 'B' Women's Championship.
The six-team tournament, which has hosts Cote d'Ivoire, Liberia and Mali in Group A will take place in the Ivorian capital, Abidjan, from September 29 to October 7, 2012.
