Egypt have excluded star Mohammed Salah from their 25-man squad to face Ghana on 12 November in the final 2018 Russia FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Head coach Hector Cuper wants to give the Liverpool ace to avoid fatigue.

The Argentine has called up nine local-based players for the trip to Cape Coast.

Al-Raed winger Mahmoud “Shikabala” Abdel-Razek has been called up for for the first time in three years.

He could be a replacement for Salah after his recent outstanding performances in the Saudi league.

"Cuper decided to call nine local-based players for Ghana match (six from Ahly and the remaining three from Zamalek)," national team supervisor Ehab Leheta announced in an official statement.
