Ernegie Cottbus are very worried that midifelder Kevin Weidlich will not be fit in time for their German DFB Pokal match against SC Freiburg on Monday.

Cottbus were hoping the German-born Ghanaian enforcer would be available when they welcome SC Freiburg to the Stadion der Freundschaft  in the first round of the German Cup.

Weidlich suffered an ankle inflammation and coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz insists it is uncertain whether the 28-year old can feature in the game on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, Jonas Zickert is making progress in his training regime, and is close to full fitness.

Weidlich has made 4 appearance and registered 2 assists in the 2018/19 Bundesliga 3 for Cottbus.
