Everton boss Martinez: Bournemouth have been unlucky with injuries

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has sympathy for their next opponents Bournemouth.

The Cherries have not won since September and lost five of their last seven Premier League games.

“Bournemouth have been very unfortunate this season,” said Martinez.

“They started in the Premier League with a real swagger with a lot of the good things they showed in the Championship.

“They got some impressive results none more than the victory at Upton Park against West Ham. Then they lost two or three influential players which made things very difficult.

“They are a team with a lot of energy that wants to work very hard as a unit, they are a possession team that looks to break teams down. They are still finding their feet in this new league, when you get promoted you get that especially when you lose a few players.

“We need to cope with their same physicality and energy that they are going to approach the game with.”
