Ex-Black Queens midfielder Doreen Awuah empowers young footballers with “Tenewonsa” project

General Captain of Ampem Darkoaa Ladies, Doreen Angelina Awuah reached out to pupils of Wawanua Lower and Upper primary schools in the Bono Region through her brainchild, Tenewonsa Initiative under the theme “Combining Sports, Education and giving back to the Society”.

As it is every man’s obligation to put back into the world at least the equivalent of what he or she takes out of it, the young CEO gave out sports equipments including some Footballs and a trophy.

There was also the sporting aspect where the lower and Upper primary pupils battled it out in a football game.

Speaking after the games, she reiterated the need to help the younger ones realise their dreams through education and sports.

Tenewonsa Initiative has been in existence for sometime now and it’s only fair that I use the ordeals I went through before becoming a National Figure to impact on the Society positively. I also have it in mind to donate a goal post on my next visit.

Miss Awuah was part of the Ampem Darkoaa ladies team who came second in the just ended NC Special Competition.
